We find paradoxes almost everywhere in life, which is not a new concept by any means. For those of you that are thinking “para-whaaaaa?” a paradox is a statement that’s seemingly contradictory, yet in reality is perhaps true.
This is His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama‘s take on the paradox of the age that we live in today:
While a solution is not suggested in this quote, I can imagine that by acknowledging this paradox, we can marinate on the idea that true happiness cannot be accessed by searching outside of ourselves in the material world. Instead, by looking within ourselves, practicing kindness, and living with understanding and compassion, we can develop a deeper and more meaningful relationship with ourselves and those around us.
